CCP Receives Overwhelming Response to its “Composites in Wind Energy”
Seminar
KANSAS CITY, MO, February 26, 2010 – Cook Composites and Polymers (CCP) hosted its
first technical seminar aimed at the wind energy market. This CCPU event entitled, “Composites
in Wind Energy”, was held at CCP’s Technology Center located in Kansas City, Missouri. CCP
and Composites One, as well as other industry leaders, conducted class room tutorials and
product demonstrations.
Over 70 professionals from the wind energy industry attended the two day seminar which covered
best practices for wind blade manufacturing and repair. Additionally, specialists in composite
materials, processing methods and application equipment were present to assist in workshops and
seminars.
“These sessions laid a firm foundation for building my knowledge of composites materials”
commented Robert Kane, Director, Global Sourcing & Supply, TPI Composites. “Compared to
the myriad of conferences for the wind market, this was far and away the most informative,
instructive and as a forum…open!” added Josh Crayton, Business Development Manager, Rope
Partner.
Along with the opportunity for industry networking, a few of the key areas discussed during these
hands-on sessions included Wind Blade Design, CCP’s latest Epovia® Vinyl Ester Technologies,
Reinforcement Selection, abrasion control through Hybrid Coating Technology, and CCP’s newly
introduced Structural Bonding products.
Headquartered in Kansas City, MO, CCP has manufacturing facilities throughout the United
States, Canada and Mexico. CCP affiliate companies include TOTAL, Cray Valley, Sartomer,
Reacciones Quimicas, Peninsula Polymers and Progress Plastics among others.
